I love a good ham for both Easter and Christmas, and scattered Sunday dinners in between. I love a spiral cut ham but have never been a fan of the glaze that comes with it. I have seen lots of mustard glazed hams, but I don’t like mustard on ham either, so I decided to come up with my own recipe. This really is the best glaze I have ever tried on a ham! When I tried the finished product, all I could say was this is amazing! It is simple to make and only takes a few minutes. It will take your ham from yummy to amazing! The combination of honey, brown sugar, and cinnamon is perfect. It gives you the best of everything but isn’t too sweet. I hope that you love this recipe as much as we do!

Ingredients:

1 Spiral cut ham

½ c. Salted Butter

½ c. Brown Sugar

2 Tbl. Honey

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1 tsp. Vanilla

Preparation:

1. Preheat the oven to 325°F.

2. Place the ham fat side up in a 9x13 baking dish. Cover the ham with aluminum foil and bake it for 10 minutes per pound.

3. When the ham is about done make the glaze. In a saucepan melt the Butter. Add the Brown Sugar, Honey, Cinnamon, and the Vanilla. Cook it on a medium heat until it is bubbly.

4. Remove the ham from the oven and drain off the juice from the bottom of the pan. Then spread the glaze all over the ham with a pastry brush. You can brush inside the slices of ham for extra flavor if you like.

5. Heat the oven to 450°F.

6. Place the ham back in the oven uncovered. Bake for 5 minutes. Remove from the oven.

7. Let the ham rest for 10 minutes.

8. Serve and enjoy!
