Deep Fried Pickles (Texas Roadhouse Copycat)
I had never tried deep fried pickles until I moved to the south where it is a common appetizer. I never realized how much I was missing out my whole life by never having tried them! They are seriously one of my favorite foods! I have always loved pickles, but this brings them to a whole new level of delicious. I don’t get to order them as often as I would like because my husband hates anything with pickles in it, but sometimes I get them for me and my daughter to share since we are both pickle lovers. I have tried several different places, but I like Texas Roadhouse pickles the best. I set out to re-create them at home and tried a few different attempts. The third try was a huge success and my daughter told me that my pickles were actually a little better than Texas Roadhouse deep fried pickles. I had to agree with her. So, I hope that you love this recipe. It is delicious and simple, and if you are a pickle lover like me then you will love it!
Preparation:
1. Heat Canola Oil in a pan at 350°F.
2. In a small mixing bowl combine the Flour, Cajun Seasoning (I use ‘Slap yo Mama’ Cajun Seasoning), and the Seasoned Salt. Stir it to mix it well.
3. In a separate bowl beat the Eggs until they are mixed well.
4. Place the Pickles on a paper towel to dry them before you dip them. Dip the pickle in the egg, and then dip it in the flour mixture.
5. Place the breaded Pickles in the hot oil and cook them for 30-60 seconds on each side, or until they are crispy and golden brown on both sides. Remove them and place them on another paper towel.
6. Serve with Texas Roadhouse Cajun Dipping Sauce. Enjoy!
Cajun Dipping Sauce
1. In a small mixing bowl combine the Mayonnaise, Horseradish Sauce, Cajun Seasoning (I use ‘Slap yo Mama’ Cajun Seasoning), Paprika, Milk, Sugar, Onion Powder, and the Garlic Powder.
2. Stir it together. Serve and enjoy!
